This study investigates Persian loanwords related to music that entered the Arabic lexical tradition and were recorded in major Arabic dictionaries. Linguistic contact between Persian and Arabic, particularly from the early Islamic centuries onward, resulted in the transmission of numerous cultural and technical terms. Music, as one of the important fields of cultural exchange, reflects this interaction clearly. Many musical terms that originated in Persian were adopted into Arabic and later documented in classical lexicographical works. Examining these terms not only clarifies the linguistic processes of borrowing and adaptation but also reveals aspects of the historical exchange between the Persian and Arab musical traditions.

The study also aims to determine how these terms were recorded, interpreted, and sometimes reanalyzed by Arab lexicographers. By focusing on the lexical evidence preserve
