Journal Policy of Comparative Literature Research

The scientific journal "Comparative Literature Research" examines the relationships and interactions between "literatures of different nations" and also "the interaction of literature with other disciplines of humanities" (sociology, politics, economics, psychology, philosophy, etc.), fine arts (music, painting, calligraphy, theater, cinema, etc.), and natural and basic sciences (chemistry, physics, astronomy, geology, medicine, biology, etc.). Interdisciplinary topics and newer research areas such as literature of migration and immigrants, literature and exoticism, minority literature, literature and translation studies, universality in literature, post-colonial literature, world literature, literature and digital sciences, literature and the environment, literature and terrorism, etc., are priorities of this journal.

1. All comparative research must be based on recognized theoretical foundations in comparative literature; also, studies without previous research will not be accepted.
2. Articles are only received electronically via the website http://clrj.modares.ac.ir/.

• The submitted article must not have been published in another journal or be under consideration by other journals simultaneously.
• Acceptance and publication of the article are conditional upon approval by the board of authors.

3. The official language of the journal is Persian, and providing an English abstract is mandatory.
4. Articles publishable in the journal are categorized into three types:

a) Complete research articles. The article must be research-based and the result of the author's or authors' research work.
b) Analytical articles. Accepted in limited numbers from experienced individuals who have full insight into a specific topic and have a sufficient number of research articles published in the field under discussion.
c) Review and critique of domestic and foreign works by experts in the field.

5. The journal does not accept articles over 20 pages.
6. The journal reserves the right to reject or accept and edit articles.
7. Articles derived from a student's thesis are published with the names of the supervising professor, advisors, and student, under the responsibility of the supervising professor.
8. The total word count of the article must not exceed 6500 words; articles exceeding this limit will not be accepted.

• The submitted articles must include the following sections:

a) First page: Full title of the article in Persian and English; names of the authors in Persian and English (the corresponding author indicated with a star); academic rank and name of each author's institution in Persian and English; full address of the corresponding author including postal address and email.
b) Second page: Full title of the article in Persian; Persian abstract (maximum 250 words); keywords (maximum five words); full title of the article in English; English abstract (maximum 250 words); English keywords (maximum five words).
c) Subsequent pages: Include introduction (definition of the topic, questions, hypotheses, research method); body of the article (discussion and analysis); references; appendices.

• Note 1: The article's typography should be based on the rules set by the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, and using half-space in typing is mandatory.
• Note 2: Preferably, in addition to the article submitted through the journal system, a printed copy of the article on A4 paper along with a CD should also be sent to the journal office.
• Note 3: Tables and figures must have a title and, if necessary, a full footnote at the end.
• Note 4: Latin terms or equivalents and additional explanations should be cited using footnotes for first-time use.
• Note 5: References in the article should be written in parentheses (last name, year: page number/pages). For non-Persian sources, the same format as Persian sources should be used. Direct quotations over forty words should be indented from the right side (with font size 12).
• Note 6: Names of books and journals within the text should be in bold and italic (font size 11), and names of "articles, poems, and short stories" should be in quotes.

9. Citation style:

a) Book: Last name, First name. (Publication date). Book title. Translator's first and last name. Volume. Edition number. Publication location: Publisher.
b) Article: Last name, First name. (Year of publication). "Article title." Journal name and electronic journal name (in bold and italic, font size 11). Volume. Date accessed.

10. Article formatting:

• Articles should be formatted using the following fonts: Persian: B Nazanin (B nazanin) 12; Arabic: Traditional Arabic 14; and English: Times New Roman 11; page numbers should be at the bottom of each page. The line spacing should be 1.5 cm. Images should be sent in JPEG format, with an image quality of dpi 300 or ppi 300, and must be legible, clear, and precise.

Note: The editorial board of the journal, at its discretion, is authorized to referee and even reject articles at any stage of the publication process, and regarding those articles that based on documentation, have been previously published or are considered scientific plagiarism, the journal's academic relationship with the authors will be terminated.
Authors with a Master's degree: It is notified according to the journal's rules that receiving articles from students or graduates with a Master's degree is not possible unless the article is derived from a thesis and the name of the supervising professor is mentioned, otherwise the name of a professor (with a rank of associate professor or higher) should be introduced as a collaborator.
