The appropriation from past texts and its contemporary reflection in new texts, maintaining continuity among people for whom narrative is an inseparable part of their life, has always been a focus across all nations. Examining the history of dramatic literature in Iran and the world reveals that the use and manifestation of ancient texts in these works has largely been through literary adaptations. Among Iranian texts, what draws attention is the frequent use of stories from the Shahnameh and their adaptation in new writings. This research will case-study two lesser-known adaptations of the Siavash story: *Siavash va Sudabeh*, by the Armenian-origin author Gevorg Darfi, and *Az Khoone Siavash*, by the Iranian author Mahmoud Kianoush. These adaptations will be analyzed individually and then collectively using Gérard Genette's Transtextual-Hypertextual analysis. Ultimately, what will attract attention is a contemporary reading of the differences, similarities, and potential of these two Persian and Armenian texts, which, with their own unique approaches, adapted a single text in a unified form; a renewed look at them could also be a guiding light for creating new texts.
