The aim of this article is to analyze how black humor is used to criticize power structures, colonialism, and tyranny. The present study, adopting a descriptive-analytical method and relying on the theoretical framework of black humor, examines both works with the aim of analyzing components such as poverty and hardship, class divide, incompetent rulers, patriotism, resistance and anti-oppression, and sleeplessness. Despite the different historical and geographical contexts of the two novels (colonizer-colonized in Saleh's novel and the misguided revolution in Orwell's work), both authors use black humor to expose a truth: the gap between genuine ideals and corrupted realities. In "The Season of Migration to the North", black humor is manifested in the confrontation of Mustafa Said's character with the Western world and in his self-destruction, and depicts the bitterness of the colonial relationship and the post-colonial identity crisis. In "Animal Farm", Orwell, by creating black humor, ridicules the process of the revolution's gradual deviation from the initial ideals (equality) to a new authoritarian system. The findings of the research show that black humor is used as the main narrative strategy in both works to express despair, protest and warning. این پژوهش به بررسی کارکردهای طنز سیاه در رمان‌هاى «موسم هجرت به شمال» اثر طیب صالح، و «مزرعه حیوانات» اثر جورج اورول می‌پردازد. هدف این مقاله تحلیل چگونگی به‌کارگیری طنز سیاه برای نقد ساختارهای قدرت، استعمار و استبداد است. پژوهش حاضر با کاربست روش توصیفی-تحلیلی و با تکیه بر چارچوب نظری طنز سیاه، با هدف واکاوی مؤلفه-هایی؛ چون فقر و تنگدستى، شکاف طبقاتى، زمامداران نالایق، میهن دوستى، مقاومت و ظلم‌ستیزى و خواب غفلت به بررسى هر دو اثر می‌پردازد. باوجود تفاوت در بسترهای تاریخی و جغرافیایی دو رمان (استعمارگر-استعمارشده در رمان صالح و انقلابِ به بیراهه رفته در اثر اورول)، هر دو نویسنده از طنز سیاه برای افشای یک حقیقت بهره می‌برند: شکاف بین آرمان‌های اصیل و واقعیت‌های فاسد شده. در «موسم هجرت به شمال»، طنز سیاه در تقابل شخصیت مصطفی سعید با جهان غرب و در خودویرانگری او متجلی می‌شود و تلخی رابطه استعماری و بحران هویت پسااستعماری را به تصویر می‌کشد. در «مزرعه حیوانات»، اورول با خلق طنزی سیاه، فرآیند انحراف تدریجی انقلاب از آرمانهای اولیه (برابری) به یک نظام استبدادی جدید را به سخره می‌گیرد. یافته‌های تحقیق نشان می‌دهد که طنز سیاه در هر دو اثر، به عنوان استراتژی اصلی روایت برای بیان ناامیدی، اعتراض و هشدار به کار رفته است. https://clrj.modares.ac.ir/article_28608_430b55d1924ca394c90192228f7995df.pdf
